IR blaster not working because of Tasker

So when I just got the phone I set up the Peel remote app and had it working great. After I got all my other apps setup the way I usually do, I found my IR blaster no longer worked no matter which remote app I tired, not even the Peel app which worked at first.

By using another camera, I realized the IR led was not even firing when a remote button was pressed although the notification led would flash the usual blue. After awhile I finally figured out it was tasker causing this. With tasker disabled, the IR blaster worked just like it should but the instant I enabled tasker it would stop working.

Now my question is anyone else experiencing this and any thoughts on any workarounds? I value tasker more than the IR blaster but it would be very ideal if both worked

Assuming you don't have any tasks running in Tasker, that it's the app itself causing the problem, contact the developer at support@apps.dinglisch.net I don't have an S6, but with tasks running on my Note 3, my IR remotes work fine.

Yeah I went ahead and sent them an email this morning to see what they say. I really don't see how having tasker on could interfere with the IR blaster. I'll try some more troubleshooting in tasker when I get home.

Curious if anyone else is having the same issue on the S6 or if it's just me. I have a Verizon S6

The problem is the huge </sarcasm> number of people actually writing tasks in Tasker, compared to the number of people owning S6s.

Are you sure you don't have some task that might have something to do with the IR?

Lol yeah that's true, there probably aren't too many out there.

I finally narrowed the problem down, it seems if I have any profile in tasker that uses the state of the proximity sensor as a context causes the IR blaster to no longer function. Thankfully the one profile I have that uses the proximity sensor as a context is fairly trivial so it's no problem to disable it. With that one profile disabled, everything works the way it should now, even with my other 21 profiles active and running

sorry, i had same problems here .
but i didnt had tasker , any idea how to fix this ?

I do not use Tasker but I am still having this issue. Does anyone know what app(s) use similar system functions that could be mirroring this issue?

Registered just so that I can confirm an issue with my IR blaster not working while I have a task using the proximity sensor: I have tried several remotes that do not work, but the second I disable tasker and or the task (media menu launch with a swipe of my and over the sensor) it works. Any fix for this would be much appreciated.

**downloading samsung pay, even if you can't update the app, due to root, fixes this issue as it updates the blaster.
