Today, eating lunch with some co-workers at a mexican dive, the food was great but they had this TV blaring something annoying next to our table. We tried to get the waiter but he didn't notice us.
I noticed the TV was a samsung, same as I have at home. I pulled out my HTC one, fired up the tv remote, hit "mute" and viola, peace and quiet. Even if it weren't the same brand I could probably have added a remote on the fly for the sake of what was needed.
I remember those "tv-b-gone" devices they used to sell that could mute or turn off TVs. I was thinking you could probably create an app that did the same thing without too much trouble...
