Iris Scanner Failing

I've noticed about once a week my iris scanner fails to launch and I have to use my fingerprint. It doesn't seem to activate until I reboot my phone. This is becoming annoying and wondering if I need to reset my phone or if an upcoming software update will fix it? I haven't rooted it or installed anything outside the play store.
