Iris Scanner Unlocked by Scanning One Eye

So I was toying with my S9 plus yesterday. I disable intelligent scan, since I realize facial scanning is not as secure as other options. However, I was stunned that the iris scanner unlocks my phone with a scan of one eye. I closed my left eye and the phone unlocked scanning the right eye only. I also covered the left eye with a business card and the same thing happened.

Has anyone noticed this? Or is it s defective device?

I thought I had seen that option somewhere, but I can't find it anymore... But at one point I swear I saw the phone asking if I wanted to unlock just using one eye. Maybe it was while setting up Iris data? Can't mess up with mine because light isn't ideal for that at work, but you could try removing Iris data and re-setting it up and see if said option pops up?

Thanks. I do not remember seeing the option of using one eye. But I will try resetting the data.

Update: resetting seems to have worked. Funny, I don't remember the option for using one iris before. In any event, problem solved. Thanks again.

Glad it worked. Maybe it was there on the Note 8. Would be useful though... What if someone pokes my eye and I have to wear a patch for a few days? Or people with just one eye...
