iris scanner will not register my eyes

I have tried multiple times and it keeps saying "open eyes wide". I look like Marty Feldman all bug eyed and still it fails everytime!

Exact same issues with mine.

Did you make sure the phone was 10 - 12" from your face. I initially had a hard time until I moved the phone further away from my face (I was holding it like 5" away)....

Thanks I tryed that and after 5 tries it finally registered but then it would not unlock and I don't like having to remove my glasses every time I want to unlock my phone. I will stick to the face recognition and FPS as they both work vary well and I have no problem with the FPS placement.

Be sure that you are NOT wearing your glasses when setting up the Iris scanner. Also make sure that you are not in a bright area with glaring sun all around. Once it gets set up you can easily use it with your glasses on. I'm just not sure how well it's works outside when it's even hard to see the phone screen. I'll be testing that out.
It works so well for me in the house or car and so fast that I usually don't even see the Iris feature to position your eyes in.. Opens incredibly fast.

My issue was same as lowboydvr. I was holding mine way too close to my face. I usually now hold it what seems about 15 inches from my face works super quick

I have the same issue. I have physically pull my eye lids open more. I didn't have this problem with the note 7

Yeah don't think is a useable feature for me anyway, don't want to have to contort my face every time I want to use my phone!

I always giggle when it asks "open eyes wide" the few times it's asked

I can't help but think " my eyes are open but helloooooo I'm Asian ??? " ............ my phone is so racist haaaaaaa !!

Have you tried scanning your irises again? Seriously, often times it just picks it up for me when I glance the top area and it's effortless. I feel that they improved it so much over the Note7 where I really had to contort my face!

The iris scanning has been incredible for me... Very fast and accurate... Even in pretty dark conditions. The only times it hasn't picked up the irises is when there is bright light behind me.

Mine works just fine, set it up with out my glasses and I would say 95% of the time it's works instantly. It's so nice to just look at the screen and have it unlock. The first time I tried to set it up the phone was way to close and as soon as I get it father away it registered my iris's immediately.

Iris works great for me. I would say about 90 if not 95% success rate for me.
