Irritated and amazed that the Samsung $70 wireless charge has A FAN IN IT!!

I use the round Samsung wireless charger I bought last year when I got the S6. Yea it's not rapid charge but I usually only charge my phone when I sleep so I really don't need to spend more money on another wireless charger.

I have the new Samsung wireless charger stand now for 2 weeks and it's on my night stand next to me when I sleep, I have never heard the fan if there is one.

I knew it had a fan, i read the info on it before buying it.

I cant hear mine, i have the flat one and like having it on the nightstand, but yes the light is way brighter than it needs to be. Works well with otterbox defender on my note 5.

I bought the angled samsung fast charger and liked it, the light is much dimmer and better, HOWEVER, my note5 will not charge with any case on it, but the s7 chargers fine in an otterbox defender. Since i wont take the case off just to charge i put the flat one back on the nightstand. Was disapointed about that.

Sent with my white Note5 with nonremovable back and no SDcard!

Heh... yes... good ol' electrical tape. I've used that trick before. For some reason, baby monitors all seem to come with power and signal lights strong enough to power the Lighthouse of Alexandria... So much so that it lit the room up a rather odd green. Why anyone would design something that pretty much projected a bright light directly at a sleeping infant... dunno.

But it was a problem solved with a wee bit of tape over the bulb.

So I specifically went on a search to MAKE SURE theres a fan in there. Not only did the Choetech Fast charger get hot enough to fry an egg, or a Li-on battery over time, it doesn't shut off when full. Found my phone COOKING on there in the morning perhaps 3-4 hours after being fully charged. Might as well leave the phone on the dash of my black on black car while I'm at it. No thanks! Note that the upright orientation doesn't hurt either for letting some heat escape.

Well, I have 3 of the Choe Technology pads (use with two different S7's) and do not see any heat issues.. Also, charging stops when phone is charged! I have friends with the Choe and no one is reporting such crapola.

Well, I have three S7's in the household and I have three of the Choetech Fast Chargers (the one's at the link I gave) and all the Choetech fast chargers work great with the S7's. YES, like any other pad charger, including the Samsung, the phone has to placed in the "sweet spot" if you expect the phone to charge. YES, you have to have the proper adapter. As I said, I have used both the Samsung fast charger (more then one, actually 3) and the Choetech and to me the Choetech is the pick of the litter.

I have the 45 degrees aligned fast charger from Samsung and I can just throw my phone on the charger however I want and it will charge, because it has not 1 coil like the other chargers, it has 3 coils.
As for the fan, I would never ever use a fast wireless charger that doesn't have a fan ... simply because the amount of heat that is generated on the battery is enough to degrade your battery in less than a year of use.
The real question is, why would you charge your phone at night? I have a wireless charger at work and when I leave work, I have 100% battery life... more than enough to last me until the morning. Even better, if you still want to charge your phone at home, why not charge it in the morning? While you go to the toilet, make breakfast etc. the phone is already charged before leaving home ...
