Is 10 Minutes of 4K Recording Really Possible With This Phone?

As we know, most smartphones can only record 5 minutes of 4K footage at a time, but can the Samsung Galaxy S8 really do 10? If so, what other phones can record 10 minutes of 4K as well?

my S7 records 10 minutes at 4k then starts another recording. I tested it. ra it for 20 minutes and got 3 ten minutes videos. wouldn't go past that. I just use 1080 60 fps.

You ran it for 20 minutes and got 30 minutes of video? What was in the extra 10 minutes???

Think it was just a typo 😃 I'm sure he meant, he made a 30 minute recording. I normally stick to 1080p at 30fps because of this 'issue'. 4K is definitely really awesome but I like 1080p just because it's a lot smaller in size and the quality is still really good.

Apparently this limit is due to overheating possibilities.

To be honest, while many phones can do 4K, I really don't think the tech is at the point where it's really a viable, day to day format. The number of devices that can natively display 4K is still pretty small, so other than the editing advantage (oversampling), just seems too limited to really be useful... the file sizes are massive and they often turn your phone into the world's most expensive hot plate.
