Is a regular charger cord safe to use

Since the charger itself only takes the charge necessary, would it be safe to use other cords on the S, especially when connected to portable battery packs?

Yes, No problem. I never even took out my original cable.

The only problem with an overly long or overly thin cord is that it may take longer to charge the phone.
