Is Airpush bad?

I checked my phone for Airpush apps and found 3. Two of which I rarely use. Other than mining my info and being annoying, does this cause battery drainage and other bad stuff?

I use Tunein Radio and not so much iheart Radio and AZ Central News (local)

I am surprised Pandora doesn't show as a Airpush culprit!
Tunein Radio has a check box for
"disable push notifications".
I find though I don't get any advertising in my notifications panel, so does that mean there really isn't any reason to delete these apps? Or are they using battery in the background?
