Is an upgrade from my OP3T to the OP5 worth it?

Hey All,

I went the 02 UK contract route and currently 7 months into a 2 year contract with my OnePlus 3T (128gb version). The handset is great and does everything i need it to do very quickly but then the OnePlus 5 appears............

Very tempted to upgrade but i'm wondering:

1. Is the OP5 really much better than what I have?
2. Should I stick with my OP3T as in 6 months the OP5T will be here anyway?

Would be great to hear other peoples thoughts.

Nah, man. Ain't really worth it.

Although, lots of people are just assuming there will be a 5T, and there may be, but assuming is generally a bad idea, and if you're actively waiting on it you might be waiting for something that will never happen.

Unless something significant has changed for you, I can't imagine that it would be worth the cost to upgrade before your contract is up.

This OP3T is actually fine. might get a dbrand skin on it, new screen protector and stick with it.

I noticed there are no OP3T accessories on the OnePlus site just for the 5.......

I would probably stick with OP3T unless i needed better camera.Performance wise,it is not noticeable in day to day life.
So better stick with op3t for atleast a year and when then when the next oneplus comes,go for it.<NEVER SETTLE>

The handset is great and does everything i need it to do very quickly...

Then keep the 3T. Upgrading after less than one year is not very cost effective. You're not going to see a big difference, and the 3T is getting system updates.

Hold onto your cash and wait till next year.

Op3t is still ok but if you are a hardcore gamer than youcan upgrade for normal routine the 3t would do the work

Camera is rather a mixed bag with the 5.
It isn't just a straight up improvement, particularly with low-light likely to be worse.

Battery-life is improved.
Better performance from better CPU.

I don't really see the need to be honest.
It has been said that the 3t is going to get android O, and while the previous plan of the 2 getting an update to N has been dropped, that change of plan has been widely publicised before this latest "promise".
I can't see them wanting the backlash of doing it twice.
The camera falling short of expectations, plus the iphone resemblance.
OnePlus are falling very short of what they are capable of, and can lose even loyal customers if they aren't careful, as their previously strong position is now weakened a lot from competition such as Honor.

It depends on your reasons behind wanting to upgrade. The 3T is a great phone, the Oneplus 5 is a major upgrade, but 3T is also fine.
