Is Android 2.2 Froyo worth it?

I have been hearing a lot about the new Froyo/Android 2.2 update that has been flying around, and I have been wondering is it worth it? Because when I heard about it I heard crashes a lot, and I not trying to deal with that. So is this update offical and stable enough to use, and what are the benefits of this update?

It's stable as can be. This is the official 2.2 for the N1, not a beta or pre release. If you're not rooted you'll get it soon OTA.

If you are rooted and customized, you'll need to load it yourself.

How do you root your memory card and import the update? Seem to be getting stuck at this step. Thanks.
