What I was wondering that 5.0 has material design makeover but will it affect the OS fluidity does it make is slower or more fluid...

Lollipop is running fairly smoothly on my 2012 Nexus 7. It is probably a bit slower than KitKat, but it's good enough for me.You tell that to ppl with n7 2012
IMO the hype about ART was unjustified. To the naked eye I'm not seeing any improvement in app launch speed, screen transitions, or any other general UI activities. Installed on a 2013 nexus 7, with a fresh factory reset after OTA. I literally can't detect any difference. It's not appearing worse either, but if ART and other performance improvements were introduced, maybe a computer benchmark might notice it but I don't. Which is what should matter.
I was actually hoping that this update would bring my n7 up to par with my mini retina in this regard but was a minor letdown. I CAN notice a difference with the naked eye between my two different brand tablets, but I can't between KitKat and Lollipop on the n7.
It may, but on a 2013 nexus it shouldn't
