Android Central Question

I am wondering if Android 9 is end-of-support. I found on Wiki that it is end-of-support since Mar 7 2022 (from Wiki), but I cannot find any official link. Does anyone know the official link or where to send email please. Thanks,

Welcome to Android Central! It depends on what you mean by "end of support". If you're wondering about security patches, then you're correct, phones with Android 9 would no longer be getting security patches (since Pie was released 4 years ago, and no phone from that release year would still be getting updates -- even Pixels). And phones on Android 9 can't take advantage of Google Play System Updates, which are separate from the monthly security patches, and were introduced with Android 10: https://www.howtogeek.com/686927/wh...em-updates-on-android-and-are-they-important/

But phones that are still on Android 9 should still be able to run almost every app in the Play Store -- I'm not aware of any major app that requires Android 10 and above.

I work in cybersecurity and have to evaluate security for a type of TV. It is Android 9. And if Android 9 is not supported by Google anymore, it means the developer should switch to Android 12.
Welcome to AC!

Apps are supported but security is not , it would be up to work to keep you on the latest Android version with security not developer no?
