Is AP mobile tied to another widget?

I am trying to figure out why some people don't experience the AP mobile taking any data.
I know you need a Data Manager to see it using data but some of us use a Data Manager and don't see the usage.

Some have pointed opening the ap to be the problem but others who have never opened it still see data use.

Is there another Samsung/App/Widget that is being opened/ used that is tied to this AP mobile?

I had made the mistake of opening the widget, and found my data usage was terrible after I closed it again. To solve, I now keep the widget open and set the refresh interval to 3 hours. Data usage is minimal, but if I close the widget outright the usage will fly back up.

How do you set the refresh to every three hours? I think I'll give this method a shot.

I haven't had this problem so far, probably because I never opened that widget......and from the looks of it, I think I will just stay away from it altogether.

I'm from the Sprint side of the house, with the Epic Touch, their version of the SGS II. Check this out:

That's over a 6 hour period, overnight, when the phone did nothing but sit on the charger. Almost 50mb of data used by a widget I'm NOT EVEN USING. Pretty awesome! Plus, whatever it's doing, it's preventing the phone from sleeping, so... yeah. My battery life has gone from great to pretty bad.

I tried uninstalling the app, only to see that's not an option. I installed it from the market, then uninstalled it, and that removed the app from my app drawer, but not the widget... the damn process keeps restarting no matter how many times I kill it.

So, I'm trying the idea of actually setting the widget on a homescreen, and setting the refresh interval to 3 hours (just tap the widget to open it, menu --> settings). So far, it's been almost exactly 3 hours since I set it and it's used no data at all in that time. UPDATE: well, it just refreshed on schedule, used a little over 300k. Huge improvement if that's all it's gonna do. Thanks for this idea!

Has anyone tried to use a services manager to stop the service from loading at startup. This way it doesn't have a chance to 'repopulated.

Unless you are rooted all that will do is give you errors and probably drain the battery.

Put the widget somewhere on a screen, open it up, hit the menu button and go to settings and then there's an "auto refresh" option.

Looking at my data manager thingy, since doing this I've only used 4.5MB of data over the air.

What launcher are you guys using?? Seems the AP mobile is connected to Touchwiz cos I only notice it using data when I switch over to touchwiz but nothing when on launcher pro
