At releasing devices? Why couldn't Samsung have released 10 days after launch like Apple is doing? At least why couldn't they have announced dates? Is this a sign of chaos behind the scenes??

I think they waited to see what Apple was doing in terms of pricing. And Apple has their way with carriers a lot more often than Android OEMs, so yes, they're better at releases.

Sorry. I didn't mean to hit the Thanks buttom. :p
Maybe part of it has to do with materials. Apple may use more in house components than Samsung. Samsung may enter manufacturing later to get the latest processors. Who knows. Apple may appear to have smoother launches, but I would think the final product would always win in the end.

It does make me sad.. But I'll wait.

Is Apple just better than Samsung

They do have the "build up the hype and ride it to the bank" down pat. Something all the other manufacturers have failed to learn. The one thing I will say though is now that Apple is getting involved with the whole mobile pay arena, it should really take off. No one has been able to kick that off right and Apples pull will likely provide a big enough boot.

Does it really matter when it ships? It would be nice to know prices yeah but that's the way it is.

Re: Is Apple just better than Samsung

I'm sure prices will be pretty similar to the note 3 prices.

Why is it that when Samsung 1st came out with the note line everyone was that is too big no one will

I'm not too concerned. I'm still enjoying the heck out of my M8. I think I'm going to wait until Black Friday to pick up the Note to see if I can get it at a discount.

Because the sheep will always follow blindly to the slaughter. BTW I found this yesterday, I think Anandtech.com created it.

I do love how the iphone goes from stereo speakers to mono. No mention of the missing speaker.

That's because it was never stereo. It had a mic (that looked like a speaker) and an actual speaker.

Re: Is Apple just better than Samsung

I think the real answer is that Apple controls the timing of it's announcements, whereas Samsung ties it's announcements to major industry events. If Samsung had waited another month to announce the Note 4, they could have started shipping right after the announcement. But all the other Android vendors would have stolen their thunder at IFA, and the Note 4 announcement would be overshadowed.

If Apple wasn't ready to ship next week, they would have just delayed the announcement, and the iSheep and media would still fawn all over the new devices. Only Apple really commands enough press coverage to get away with scheduling their announcements separate from the rest of the industry.

People need time to get used to different things. When I first saw pictures of the international Galaxy Note in 2011, I thought that it was too big. When I finally so one in person when it came out in the US in 2012, I thought that it was beautiful and said that I would adjust to the size. Since then, I have had every Note phone and two Note tablets.

The OEMs since then have put out many large phones including LG, Sony, Nokia and others. People are used to the large phones and many even desire them. It's easy for a tech journalist to say that the iPhone will be a hit for many reasons at this point since there were iPhone users that wanted larger screens, as well.
