Is Apple just better than Samsung at releasing devices?

Re: Why is it that when Samsung 1st came out with the note line everyone was that is too big no one

Well I'm honest here at first I thought like damn this thing is awckward but after seeing the possibilities combined with the S Pen I was sold. I love hand writing and if you can do that on a phone with almost minimal lag I'm willing to use a slightly bigger screen although my ideal form factor would be 4,7.

Just reading what the specs say...

As my statistics professor loved to say: "Figures don't like, but liars will figure."

No, I'm not calling you a liar. Just pointing out that without a little more specifics, terms like "larger", "smaller" and "narrower" can be pretty misleading. 1,001 mm is "larger" than 1,000 mm, but you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who could see or feel the difference.

Yeah they got it right with specs that are 2 years old...... Go teamiphoney lmfao

Moto X taught me that specs aren't the only thing that matters.

All relative. Based on the listed dimensions, there was nothing in my statement that was untrue.

(Not really trying to argue anything)

The iPhone 6 Plus is taller, but thinner and more narrow than the Galaxy Note 4.

Don't forget the 6Plus also has a lower screen resolution 1920x1080 vs 2560x1440 (or 1080p vs 2K) and a smaller screen. I do think once those buyers get the phone they will be surprised how big it is and quickly have to decide if they really want the big phone or not. I struggled with that when I had the Note 3, and now I regret selling it. Waiting impatiently for the Note 4.

Re: Why is it that when Samsung 1st came out with the note line everyone was that is too big no one

Check out this Compare Mobiles - Apple iPhone 6 Plus vs Samsung Galaxy Note 4 vs LG G3 Specs, Battery & more and see comparison specs of the Note 4 vs G3 vs 6 Plus.
6Plus Galaxy Note 4 LG G3
Dimensions (mm) 158.10 x 77.80 x 7.10 153.50 x 78.60 x 8.50 146.30 x 74.60 x 8.90

So yeah 1.4mm thinner on the 6 Plus which is not something I would crow about, it means less battery space and a bulging camera. 4.6mm taller which takes up more room in your skinny jeans and 0.8mm narrower by that count its nothing to even mention.

So really who cares they are nearly the same dimensions, the difference is once is just a smaller ipad with a phone and those users will still be running for a wall outlet.

I just can't understand why Apple has everyone all lathered up! This is about the hundredth thread, complaining about the iphablet! Maybe Apple did something right after all?

SENT FROM MY LG G-FLEX ON THE NOW NETWORK FROM SPRINT!👍

I don't understand it either this is AC and yet the note 4 forum is cluttered with Apple threads. Personally I don't care about them and would also remind people that the note 4 has only the possible LG phablet as a competitor because it will be the only one offering a pen features too.

It's weird that LG decided to lower the specs on it though

The LG device with the stylus surprised me with how low the specs are... I hope they weren't thinking of competing with the Note 4 with that one

Yeah I too don't understand it if they expected to compete with the note 4 better specs would have been a must! Also with all the experience Samsung has now it will be tough to challenge them but I would like it competition is always great for customers.

Why is it that when Samsung 1st came out with the note line everyone was that...

Having owned all platforms over the last few years, and most recently having a One M8, OnePlus One and a work issued GS3, don't you guys ever get tired of trying to act holier than thou about how much better you all are than 'Apple Fanboys' while totally missing the irony that you're behaving like prepubescent children throwing around witticisms like 'iPhoneys'? You're worse than the people you spend all your time ******** about.

Just saying.

I can tell you one thing, my under spec'd Apple devices still perform more reliably and smoothly than any of my super powered Android phones.

Specs mean nothing. It's the tech equivalent of whipping out your epeen and a measuring stick.

Re: Why is it that when Samsung 1st came out with the note line everyone was that...

As posted it's all about Marketing. Why do you care, is it because Apple will break sales records? It's business don't take it personally.

I keep seeing that nexus 4 comparison, which I don't get because the iPhone from day one hasn't been about specs.

Perhaps. But my Android phone does so much MORE than the iPhone because it's an open system vs. a closed one. I can make it work the way I want it to work, instead conforming to the way Steve Jobs thought I should work. When the iPhone lets me see my upcoming appointments, alarms, weather, and the song that's playing just by glancing at the lock screen or home screen, without having to open and switch between multiple apps, let me know.

And we'll see how well that 1 GB of RAM and dual core CPU works now that Apple is finally implementing multi-tasking support for apps. Actually, the cpu will probably be fine because with only 1 GB of RAM there won't be much multi-tasking going on.

Exactly the iPhone works well in meagre specs because it doesn't do anything unless you open an app. Android is always on working in the background.

I would say that if you are resorting to name calling, it is you that are more threatened and I would say that you have to evaluate to yourself why you are resorting to that behavior. As an iPhone user, it wasn't about the screen size that got me, it was the use of Android and the fact that my mother had a Note 1 and she started having issues with the build quality. While basing your opinion on a single phone isn't correct, I would say that having the same issues with a One and an S4 along with a Note is reasonable.

It isn't sheepish to want a reliable product and to not deal with an AMOLED display. It is preference.

I get Facebook, Messenger, WhatsApp or other notifications when my screen is off so I'm not clear on what you mean by "iPhone doesn't do anything unless you open an app." Can you elaborate?

Letting you know now that "upcoming appointments, alarms, weather, and the song that's playing just by glancing at the lock screen " is indeed the case. If you like the way you can customize with widgets, good for you. I'm gad you have the option. I thought widgets were ultimately useless and the lockscreen and notification window were great for me.

Can you show me how much of your cpu is utilized when you multitask? I'm curious. Thank you!

Re: Why is it that when Samsung 1st came out with the note line everyone was that...

Aside from Steve Jobs having said "No one will buy that", Apple has always followed their own schedule when implementing technology on their smartphones that was trendy and already on android devices, so for them to be 4 years behind on the phablet is nothing out of the ordinary.

I said nothing about cpu. I was talking about memory. And the less RAM you have, the more frequently processes and apps are going to be killed so the foreground app can do what it needs. If an app gets killed, then when you switch back to it the OS has to reload it from scratch. That's not multi-tasking.
