Is Chrome Browser beta stunningly slow on startup?

Hi,

I've been using the Chrome Browser beta, primarily because I find the sync-with-tabs-on-computer feature extremely useful.

But are others finding the browser extremely slow on startup? In my case, for instance, if I type in a word in the Google Search field on the homescreen and my default browser is Chrome, it takes maybe 15 seconds for the page in the browser to load! Or for that matter, anytime that I go directly to the browser.

I have switched back to using the stock browser as default, and Chrome only when I need the synced tabs, but this is very disappointing and sad. Granted, it is a beta, but I want to make sure I'm not the only one with this issue.

Thanks!

There is a bit of lag when entering a URL/search prompt, but once it gets cookin' it stays cookin', at least in my experience.

I've been a bit underwhelmed with Chrome Beta so far, I too find it a bit slow/laggy at times. I like some of what it offers (tabs), and have not spent a ton of time trying to figure out how to get it to work for me, but I'm back to the stock browser for now.

I have three browsers chrome dolphin And stock and chrome is a bit laggy on startup

Building a cache takes time. I would rather wait a few seconds once in the beginning than wait a quarter second extra every single webpage.

Although I use chrome as my default browser, it doesn't seem to live up to its desktop counterpart. You might want to try the new firefox; it seems to have taken a big leap from its past versions.

i agree that once chrome gets cookin it is fast but the start up is way too slow. I dont normally do a load of web browsing on my phone so i would almost prefer the quick load time for a one off page load opposed to sustained faster browser with slow loading

Use dolphin then :)

Chrome is laggy as hell on my Gnex. I love the features but I have to use the stock browser for the best results. Jelly bean is going to have Chrome as the stock browser so I'm sure it will be smoother after the Gnex gets it. Well at least the hspa version will get it next month.

Yea start up is slow. I like Chrome better but the New Fire Fox is way better. Still trying to decide which one I'm going to make my primary Browser

Chrome is very, very slow on startup. Takes it about 2-3 minutes to unfreeze.
Does anyone have a clue how to fix that /workaround?
