Is Facebook still a battery hog like before?

A few years ago Facebook was known to be one of the biggest battery hogs and it was recommended to use other FB clients for better battery life. Is this still the case or has it improved?

I hear it still a battery hog from other members, for myself I have the app and messenger and get 10 to 11 SOT and a day battery on my Note 10+, matter of fact I run that and whatsapp, Instagram, telegram haven't noticed any issues.

I'm personally more worried about background data used by FB, and who-knows-what's being sent in the process.

Because of that, the app is disabled on my S9. Can't delete it from AT&T Samsung phones, but disabling it effectively kills it.

I just use the browser for any FB use.

I think it's still up there in the Battery Culprits department. I don't use Facebook as much as I used to, so it doesn't really affect my usage.
