Is facial and retina recog improved?

Facial hasn't worked since the first update (nearly a year ago) and retina works great (phone unlocks as I pick it up) about a third of the time.
Would be nice to have these be consistent and outpace the speed of fingerprint unlock.

Now that the two are combined, I find it works for me in outdoor sunlight now. That was the only problem I had with it before.

My mistake. When I went to turn on intelligent scan it said I can't use face unlock at the same time. Good to know thank you!

Yes. On my S8+ the retina would almost never work. It works perfectly fine on the S9+. I actually tried 3 different S8+s with the same useless retina scanner.
