is HTC committing corporate suicide with the new HTC One?

Didn't want to start a new thread about this, but I wasn't aware that HTC was working on a tool that could allow the transfer of certain information from an iPhone.

HTC One to offer seamless switching from iPhone ? Phone Reviews

This reminds me of how providers say that you can keep your existing number when you make the switch. Given the amount of carriers, distribution, and sales support from various outlets, I think the potential for a fruitful FY2013, seems very realistic.

The update will mean that Sync Manager will be able to read iTunes backups and sort through photos, text messages, calendar info and videos before automatically transferring them to your new HTC One.

That's if those iPhone customers are using iTunes instead of iCloud to back up their data.

And in the case of photos, calendar info, and videos, those are pretty easily retrievable if they're already using a cloud solution.
