Hi quick question is it best to try to move most apps whenever you have the chance to the sd card rather than to the phone memory .. Any benefits to this .. Today I tried moving instagram and fb messenger to the sd card from phone memory and when I tried opening those apps they froze where I had to remove the battery . After I removed the battery they started working fine .. Any benefits into moving apps to sd card ?? or should I try to leave all the apps on phone memory ..

The only benefit is the extra internal space. The benefit of keeping app on internal memory is speed because the internal memory on your phone is much higher quality than most SD cards. NAND vs Flash

Moving apps to the SD was only a necessity back on Froyo and Gingerbread devices when you only had about 2 GB or less reserved for apps.
Also, if you don't want certain apps starting by themselves, I think putting them on the SD card stops that.

so why is it when I moved instagram and messenger to sd n I clicked to open these apps my screen went black and it froze and I had to take battery out.. SO your saying I should keep all aps in internal memory.. I did swith from dalvick to art as im running art which seems smoother n no lag at all

I keep all of my apps in the internal storage. I only use my sd card for photos, video and music. The internal storage is much faster, more reliable and less prone to corruption, plus with 24GB left there is plenty of room for apps, so no need to move them to sd card IMO.
all I know is whenever I move a app to sd card or to internal memory n I open the app it freezes my phone where I have to pull battery out .. maybe it has something to do with me running art.. or something

I set up my phone on ART as I have many others and have not had issues. All my apps are installed to internal storage. Switch to Dalvik and see if that helps.

ART still is not 100% fully functional so if your not running into any issue it just means you have not run into the apps or situation where the issue reside. And yes it is highly likely that ART is the cause of the apps on SD card crashing. Because Google does not support SD cards in general. Making the 3rd party developer in this case LG left to bridge the gap.

To run apps from the SD card without lag or freezing, you'll need a fast data transfer micro sd card, like the sandisk extreme plus. i use the same on my G3 and my gopro. No lag or freezing on the G3 at all!

Most phones are coming with more internal storage these days. The minimum for me is 64GB for a new device.
Lets not forget, not everyone can afford these new larger internal space phones. 
I have found, that if you have done a reset on phone or tablet, while the SD is mounted, it can corrupt the card, and have to eject, and format it in a PC. Once mount back to device, should work okay for apps moved. (Found this by accident, not knowing the guy was leaving the card mounted...LOL)

But the LG G3 (which is the forum the question was posted) comes with 32GB internal storage (before Operating System and the like) are added - so all G3's do come with a good amount (20+ GB usable storage)

Yes, but the question can be seen in a general way, too, since this is an issue that happens, no matter what phone or tablet one uses.
Unfortunately, tablets seem to not follow that "more internal is better for sales" thinking....LOL
Internal memory no doubt. Internal memory is faster meaning apps run faster. The fewer reads of the SD card mean it lasts longer and finally if all the apps are on the SD card you can't use the SD for anything else

I have about 22gb free internally and have a 128gb sd card with 102gb free.
No problems with apps on the sd card for me.
The less clogged the internal memory the better.

Perhaps you haven't (highly unlikely) had sd card issues but the majority of people who place apps/app data on the sd card have and given sd cards a bad rap in the process. I have NEVER EVER had any problems since 2010 (Samsung Epic 4G, S2, S3, G4) with my cards because I placed only personal media files and school/work related files. The SD card should be your digital backpack, not a place to run your apps/app data from. Any other way your asking for problems. My humble opinion.
