Is it just me that's upset about N7 32gb rumor if true?

I reverse my comment on being glad Staples was out of stock. Picked a 16gb up this morning, and it is awesome! I am almost afraid of neglecting my ipad now. I kept reading about them when they came out and just had to get one after playing with it while getting my father a Fire HD.

if you listen to the AC Podcast the guys always tell you to wait as long as you can and only but a phone/tab when you absolutely have to avoid this feeling that the very next week something newer, faster, cooler comes out - because you know it will before you get to the register. We should be glad that the tech companies listen to our complaints and address them quickly. We could be iphans who get one phone once a year, or waiting on BB10 for 2 years, which would you rather have?

Not upset. That is just how fast these things move. Happy actually because maybe it will mean more and more people buying the device. I have the 8GB version. Half the reason being because I was cheap, and because I did not see myself playing too many games and throwing movies/music on it.

Just you... this is the way of tech/gadgets... stuff gets upgraded...

It is actually a good thing... generally two things are true about gadgets:

1. Only successful products get sequels...
2. Successful products are supported/upgraded longer than unsuccessful products and more companies make accessories for successful product lines than unsuccessful ones...

Note: all of this is generally speaking... I am sure there are counter examples...

I am almost afraid of neglecting my ipad now.

It is true... we have a pair of iPad 2s and I hardly touch them anymore... before I got my N7 there was always one less iPad than we needed (there are four of us)...

Now there is often one available...

And my son dumped his Kindle Fire for an N7... I always hated that KF... I love me some native Google alps...

If it is that big of a deal just root it and use the USB OTG with a card reader or a jump drive. Problem Solved!

I don't know how it is so hard for you to fill up your n7. For me it's been way to easy especially since one of the main reasons I bought this for gaming. Good games are creeping towards 2 gigs each. I paid for the dark night, mass effect and asphalt 7 during the $.25 sale. I cannot load all of these titles on my n7 at the same time because of lack of memory. I have one movie stored, a nandroid backup and games. I'm mad I couldn't get a 32 gig option!

Half the price of an ipad and STILL could be said to rival it. That's a win for Google in my books.

PS. I own and love a Macbook, but the Android OS is just way more flexible than an ipad when it comes to tablets.

I wish I had more than the 16GB which is really only around 12 when you factor in the normal apps I have installed and operating system. I'll be on vacation this week and since I'm not sure how well the wifi will be there I loaded up a few movies from google play including a couple I purchased and one I will rent. Then I have about four films from my ultraviolet digital locker loaded up but if I had more space I could have done a few more. Now I won't watch all of these. In the end I may only watch one or two but I wanted the ability to pick and choose whatever I want to watch if I don't have the wifi connection to stream well. The limited space will do just that to my movie selection so a 32gb model would have been best. The odd thing is my almost two year old phone came with a 32GB SD card.

Why not just put them on a thumb drive? I have a 64GB thumb drive loaded with movies - works great with OTG cable & Nexus Media Importer to access them with.

If a 32GB model comes out I'll just wipe my current 16GB model, sell it, and buy the 32GB. I knew 16GB was quite a stretch for my use (gaming and photography being my hobbies; you think you know how to manage storage until you spend a full day shooting photos with a DSLR) but I chose to buy it anyway as O was quite disappointed with the performance on my Galaxy Tab...

I am happy for it being released, but now I am stuck with a glorified HD book reader that can't take full advantage of HD games and HD movies because of the limited space .
I don't think it's a "glorified HD book reader" but IF that's true, THEN it's true even if Google doesn't release a 32GB Nexus 7.

P.S. OTG FTW

Were there many 32GB 7" tablets being sold in July? If so, what were the more popular ones? Even the new Nook 7" tablet doesn't have a 32GB model, and as discussed Amazon's 32GB version isn't out for another 3 weeks. I guess we'll see soon enough if/when a 32GB N7 comes out. :)

Most 7 inch tablets have micro SD slots. And Amazon let it's customers know that it's 32GB model was coming.

I have so many games on my tablet and i still have over 5 gigs that i cant fill

Good points. Just keep in mind the N7 is a better product than many of those, and is only now being eclipsed by the new Kindle and Nook tablets. I think a lot of us are just waiting to see what Google's response will be. Odds are by the end of this month we'll know. :)

This is why I bought two Galaxy tab 2 7.0 tablets. Awesome tablets, fast, smooth, had microSD card slot, back camera, and infrared transmitter for remote control. The display may not be as good as N7, but the expandability and rest of the features are great. My family all also chose the Samsung tab 2 7.0 tablets over the N7 for the same reasons.

The cloud doesn't work for my tablet usage, because quite often I'm using my tablets on an airplane, at a hotel with crappy wifi connection, or on the road somewhere. Having the extra storage on my SD cards for movies / music / books is awesome. No way cloud is ready for prime time right now, unless you're a home body and don't go out travel much.

Well I'm still very happy I picked a Nexus 7. The higher DPI screen and having a tablet that actually gets updates were far more important than the concerns about storage capacity.
