Is it just me.......

I prefer Samsung Android to stock, but there are still some huge annoyances. Like I hate the carrier crapware. It's annoying that on my 1k phone I don't have complete and total control out of the box to remove things I don't want.

I also don't like that when AT&T decides to update my phone, they include new crapware for me to remove.

Last thing I wish would change, is I wish the security updates were timely. I think given the cost of this phone, and the fact that the S8 line and Note lines are considered flagships with premium prices, that samsung should strong arm carriers so we get the updates without their consent. That's just me though.

Other than that, I love my Note 8. It's everything my Note 7 was with some nice extras. No regrets buying this phone, I've even recommended it to people.
I also prefer Samsung's UI to stock. There are just so many useful features baked in. I love this phone. And I enjoy using it and I enjoy learning new things about it.

I agree with @doctordwaynewilliams I will add, the camera, to me, takes a little getting used to.
For me, I came from (well, I still have it) an iPhone 7 Plus. And, out of the box, one can take photos of moving objects (animals in my case), and the shots are virtually spot on...

With the Note 8, after watching a few videos online last night, I've finally figured out that I need to adjust a few settings in the Camera app. For users that want a simple point and shoot, well, they'd need to spend a little time in settings...

What sort of things did you need to adjust?

Has anyone noticed any lag. The last Samsung I had was the G4 and it was a real problem.

There is some lag on the N8. But it isn't anything I would complain about. Usually it's when I slide over to the Bixby screen. But the N8 is really fast and smooth with most things.

You should try it. Makes the phone feel much faster.

Maybe I will.
That's one of the first things I do on any device, turn on developer options and turn off animation BUT on the N8, make sure to leave Animator duration scale on, at least at the lowest setting. I found out here on the forums, that with all animations off, you lose the ability to have the pop-up from a tap-hold on any home screen, which allows you to do lots of things. See screenshots.

I can still long press an icon using Nova Prime and pull up the menu with all 3 settings on off.

Faster but I feel that animation is what that makes the software felt "polished", provided it's smooth of course. I dun really like things to just appear and disappear out of nowhere even though it's faster.

I love this phone too, I find myself even holding it in 1 hand while at work typing on the computer, lol it slows my progress down but I just want to touch it every now and then lol

I was getting a little bored with mine so I factory reset it and started over. Decided to go with TouchWiz instead of Nova or ML. Glad I did. It's like a new phone to me all over again. Really liking TW.

They have really perfected the Note with this one. I haven't changed much at all on this thing it's great the way it is.

My first Samsung phone. iPhone only before. Then October came and I switched. The best thing ever! My wife is with her ip8 and always wants my phone for watching videos ... :) I love the phone
