So here we are, app updates continue to be incomoatible with latest OEM firmware (Stock most recent AOSP) & Sammy has moved onto newer versions of the Note phone and tablet with no signs of 4.4.4 on 2012.

Considering the 2012 is quickly becoming the worlds most expensive Sony Clie PDA, is it time to ditch Samsung, or at least the note, with edge and more variants coming out, is it not worth the stylus for those of us who use it? Maybe Nvidia Shield may be the way to go?

Anyway frustrated here, as hangouts is another victim ... now all google apps are OBE on Note 10.1 2012, cest la vie.

I feel your pain; I've sadly given up hope on receiving Kit Kat. To spruce up the 10.1's dated layout, I'm using Nova Launcher with various themes. It's crazy how much cooler & more modern everything looks and feels.

what is the problem? roms are out there, so what is the reason they dont offer them in all region? e.g. n8000 came on may in German, 4months ago! my n8000 isnt depending on a carrier, so there is no reason not to update . i already bought a new phone and getting another tablet and replace my note by surface. not going to buy samsung devices anymore. they lost me. they wont get me back.

the only premium with samsung is the price. you cannot trust at all this asian company. they will never get their feet to the business sector - no business will buy devices left outdated soon as bought.

im using nova launcher too.

Agreed. Samsung is dead to me. I forked out too much for this tablet only to see Samsung ditch it's customer base. Switched to an LG G Pad and they came out with Kit Kat right away, have far fewer crap-ware and seem to be faster. I even went with LG for the G Watch.

Yeah I'm using Nova too ... Sad that it is faster at animations and transitions than the stock touch wiz home app.

Samsung's problem is that they are good at making news but their follow through sucks. The edge, Alpha, A5 are all cool devices yet they'll never see the light of day in the US.

I think Motorola is becoming the US OEM of choice if you want solid updates ... That's said, why can't the stylus input get some stock android capability ... I'd like to see an open spec/api for stylus input then oems can just make a stylus version or there's a universal stylus ... That of course would cut into profits though.

Samsung is a mess ... They are following the MS business model of getting into everything and being everything to everybody. They should just have a Galaxy and Galaxy Note model on a yearly cycle then standardize updates esp on WiFi only models.

I vent, I apologize ...
