AC Question

On May 20,2017,texting a friend,(sms),received phone call, friend lives out of state, this call came 20 miles from friend, said they didn't know anyone from there, hour or so later, friend says you must mean my friends boyfriend, that my friend friended on Facebook 4 days earlier, looked up phone number and friends friends boyfriend, they were like one street apart and 4 or 5 days later my phone freezes, had to take out battery to restart, then I notice in recently used apps, the Facebook icon shows all apps on current page of my phone the Facebook app is on, it used to display a mini picture of my Facebook home page, reinstalling Facebook app, Icon goes back to the way it was, but then changes to showing all other apps again, the next day messenger says every couple of seconds its not responding, reinstalled. Have not contacted Facebook yet.

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone do you have? Did you actually answer this phone call, and if so, who spoke to you? How do you know that the call came 20 miles from your friend -- did caller ID identify the location of the caller?

I'm not quite understanding the last part of your post. I suggest going to Settings>Apps, selecting Facebook and FB Messenger, and Clearing Cache/Data. Then open Facebook again and log back in -- see if it still freezes.

Hi and Ty for replying

I have a galaxy S5,yes caller ID said where call came from, no did not answer, was only like a half a ring, just enough to say I had a call, so I asked my friend, It was a landline, friend told me to call n find out who it was,, I called back, was always busy. Facebook didn't freeze, phone did, had to take out battery to restart. I just thought it was funny that in recently used apps, the Facebook app doesn't show mini Facebook page, It displays all other apps on that page on phone, if I move Facebook app to a different page, it will show the apps on that page, if I put it on a empty page, that's what it will show, View attachment 262625just black. Use to display Facebook , if I log out of Facebook on my timeline, it will show as pictured, if I log out on any other page from Facebook its normal, shows page you logged out on.

The call was most likely a coincidental wrong number. I've seen other posts recently about the latest Facebook update acting up, which might also explain the phone freezing. Did you already try clearing Facebook's app cache and data, as suggested above?

Also, you could try wiping the system cache partition, which won't erase any personal data: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-28492

Thanks for registering -- when you get a chance, head over to the Introductions forum and tell us something about yourself! http://forums.androidcentral.com/introductions/

Thank You very much.

Yes cleared both caches and data, FB and Messengers, still have the changes to icon as shown, that seems to be the only problem now. I will try system cache if I notice anything else, Ty again
