Since this phone has been out for quite some time, has there been a way to unbrick this device? Is it through Odin?

Unbrick? What do you mean? Most soft bricks that can be saved in Odin. For phones that can't even get into download mode (making Odin unusable), jigs are available on Ebay for $2 that will get it done. For hard bricks, there's probably no saving it, like any other phone. It all depends on how bad the owner effed up.
