Is it possible to add widgets on the lock screen?

Is it possible to add widgets on the lock screen without using any launchers? If yes, how? Thanks.

If you want widgets on the actual lockscreen, without having to swipe to get to them, try WidgetLocker, in the Market. Developed by the same people that developed Nova Launcher.
