How to get music player widget on lock screen Galaxy S25

I'm new to the S25. Someone please tell me it's possible to add a widget or somehow be able to control SiriusXM or Media Monkey players from the lock screen, I can't see how to do it. Thanks

What controls do you want? The Now bar should appear when media is playing giving users the options to skip ahead or go back. I don't believe it allows you to fast forward or rewind, except to the beginning of the track. This should appear in your notifications and on your lock screen. This is the default behavior but if you're not seeing it in these areas the following instructions can help you to enable it.

To turn on the Now Bar on your Samsung phone, go to Settings > Lock screen and AOD > Now bar, then enable the switches for features like Media Player, Current mode, and Live notifications (Maps, Health, Clock) to see live updates on your lock screen without unlocking your device.

Let us know what you find and we'll offer more advice.

Thank you, this is helpful.

I wasn't aware of the now bar. I guess that gets close to what I was hoping for. After going through those settings, it now seems the controls appear on the now bar when actively playing media. It seems to appear in the notification panel like your screen shots, but only when the phone is unlocked. Is that how it should work?

I guess I had expectations it would function similar to earlier galaxy versions where the full media controls were active on the lock screen. With the now bar, it's an extra step to expand it to full functioning buttons but still better than unlocking the phone.

I think I'm getting "settings" fatigue so it's hard to remember how and where all these things are located, but let me know if there's anything I'm missing. Thanks again.

Yes, this is how it should behave. I didn't mention it was unlocked because I was just mentioning all of the places you can find it.

Anyway, are you new to Android or Samsung? It's pretty easy to find most everything on your phone including settings using any of the search bars they give us. In settings there is a magnifying glass at the top of the list that you can search for practically anything. Just put in the first word of what you're looking for and it will find most if not everything associated with that term. You can get a similar result searching through Assistant/Gemini using the OK Google prompt or typing in the Google search bar.

There are apps that might give you more options, that take the place of the Now Bar.

Google suggests these.

To replace Samsung's "Now Bar" for media playback on Android, apps like Media Bar (Beta) offer a custom status bar for controls and progress, while you can also add media controls to the system's quick settings panel using apps like Quick Tiles, or enable built-in media controls via Android's Lock Screen settings, bypassing the Now Bar entirely for a more traditional player experience.

Let us know if you have more questions. Best wishes.

Much appreciated, thanks again. I'm not new to Samsung but I don't replace my devices often so there's a lot of change in functionality and even language since I got my S9 in 2018. On top of that I'm not very tech savvy so it's easy for me to miss simple things.

After a few days I think I'm getting up to speed now though and you've pointed me in the right direction here. Thanks again.
