Is it safe to pry out the Bixby button?

I'm constantly hitting the Bixby button by accident on my S8+ and I'm seriously considering getting a pocket knife and prying it off. Convince me why this is a bad idea.

If you don't have the Bixby update yet, you could use Package Disabler Pro to disable it.

No. It isn't safe.

Don't do it.

Your warranty will likely be invalidated, and you will lose water resistance.

I could never understand why anyone would intentionally physically damage an expensive piece of equipment. Please don't do it.

It would be physical damage eliminating your warranty, would also lose water resistance.

Depending on how it's actually installed may cause more damage to the phone prying it out.

I disabled it back to factory and now the button launches the Bixby set-up. Maybe I need to go through the whole setup to turn it off?

Why not just turn the button off now that there's the option to do so?
That's what I did and the button does nothing now. I'm not going to re-map it because then whatever I re-map it to will open every time I accidentally hit it. It is a bad location.

I had the S8 Plus then the regular S8 and I honestly don't think I accidentally hit it more than once. I see loads of complaints about it so I'm certainly not denying people's issue with it. I hated the Finger Print Sensor location whilst many others found it ok so Samsung really need to look at both placements for the S9 I reckon
