Is it still a good time to buy a Nexus 7?

I am reading this thread on my iPad3 debating on whether to buy a N7. It really fascinates me to no end. I really like the size, but I wish it had more storage. I could see the N7 replacing my iPad for the majority of what I do. Even though I am Mac based at home I lean more towards Google for synchronicity.

I didn't realize the $25 credit expired tonight though. I may have missed the boat on that one.

I'm sure Google will offer a similar deal around the holidays if u can wait that long.

anytime is good for buying a device except there is a new device launch come in a month or so.

If you wait for a device you will wait for ever. also, Asus denied the $99 rumor and there is very less chance of having a device refresh.

Early adopters always pay more but get to try the newest stuff first... At 199/249 I feel its not a HUGE investment (poor college kid here) and worst case scenario you could probably get a good amount of it back should you choose to sell it or trade it towards whatever else is new

Got mine x 2 months ago, and LOVE IT!! Very portable, great signal reception for WiFi, even better than phone! Easy to learn and a SUPER value... much better than cost of iPad. Only problem is no means to increase storage...Still, easy to read screen, easy to increase font size (for older eyes!) Good luck!

I bought the Nexus 7 in July a week after it came out. I had the money to buy a tablet before and went with an Acer TimelineX laptop that was 14 inches and could replace my Desktop as my main machine even for gaming. I never thought I'd have a real tablet needing experience as I read comics virtually but could do so on my Galaxy S2 or laptop. The Nexus 7 got shown to me and I played with it at the store and I was caught. After less than a month of using it I had a mishap and it was destroyed, thank god for Squaretrade accident coverage and I DEFINITELY recommend them. I got the replacement money and heard rumors of this or that, had a friend get a great deal on a Transformer Prime, so thought about spending a few extra to get a 10 inch. I'm a huge open Android fan but keep myself aware of iOs devices and software because I'm one of the only Android people in my company and family. After the iPhone 5 and iOs had nothing but lacking in my opinion as things like NFC and decent mapping which I use a lot, I was sure I was sticking with Android. 7 Inch still works for me because I don't carry a bag everywhere unless I have my laptop and I have a 2 yr old and want to have my hands free, Nexus 7 passes the back pocket test with the right cases.

If the rumors are right and there is a cheaper model coming out, it is probably with the 3g/4g option and honestly, if you have an Android phone you can tether or if you are like me, there is wifi everywhere. So Friday I purchased my second Nexus 7 and never been happier.

Get it, enjoy it (believe me you will) and then if and when the new devices come out, either decide it's not worth the upgrade or sell your old one on eBay or Craig's List to help defray the cost of the new one.

Probably wont help now but the $25.00 google play credit is valid if you ordered the device on the 30th (as I did) even if you don't receive it after that date.
