I bought the Nexus 7 in July a week after it came out. I had the money to buy a tablet before and went with an Acer TimelineX laptop that was 14 inches and could replace my Desktop as my main machine even for gaming. I never thought I'd have a real tablet needing experience as I read comics virtually but could do so on my Galaxy S2 or laptop. The Nexus 7 got shown to me and I played with it at the store and I was caught. After less than a month of using it I had a mishap and it was destroyed, thank god for Squaretrade accident coverage and I DEFINITELY recommend them. I got the replacement money and heard rumors of this or that, had a friend get a great deal on a Transformer Prime, so thought about spending a few extra to get a 10 inch. I'm a huge open Android fan but keep myself aware of iOs devices and software because I'm one of the only Android people in my company and family. After the iPhone 5 and iOs had nothing but lacking in my opinion as things like NFC and decent mapping which I use a lot, I was sure I was sticking with Android. 7 Inch still works for me because I don't carry a bag everywhere unless I have my laptop and I have a 2 yr old and want to have my hands free, Nexus 7 passes the back pocket test with the right cases.
If the rumors are right and there is a cheaper model coming out, it is probably with the 3g/4g option and honestly, if you have an Android phone you can tether or if you are like me, there is wifi everywhere. So Friday I purchased my second Nexus 7 and never been happier.
