Is it still possible to root my device right now? (HTC One M8)

I've been looking at rooting for a while now because I'm having issues with battery life and I'm not satisfied with the volume level and to be honest I'd like to see what else I could do with root. I've looked at numerous guides and they all ask for you to uncheck 'Fast Boot' which is not possible now after the update to remove the button from settings. So I was wondering if anyone has rooted a HTC One M8 recently and could help me out?
