Is it still worth it?

Looking to get a N7 2013 as a gift since they're inexpensive now, and I'm wondering: is it still worth it?

Depends on what it's going to be used for. I've heard a lot of people have issues with their N7s running slowly on LP and MM. If you don't mind being on an older version of Android or are just going to use it for light tasks, it's probably still a good deal.

Depends upon the giftee who will be getting it, and what they are using it for. I still use mine quite often for miscellaneous non-intensive uses, and it works fine, just a lot slower than my new phone or desktop. Admittedly the technology is becoming dated, which is why it is at a good price.

I may or may not replace mine with a newer tablet, don't feel extremely compelled to do so as the N7 still meets my needs. For more intensive uses, I go to my laptop or new Skylake build computer.

My 2013 Nexus 7 runs pretty well on Marshmallow 6.0. If a device still gets updates to the latest OS and runs it well, and the N7 does, I don't think it's outdated at all.

Bottom line: For the money the N7 is definitely a Nice Device.

I acquired mine recently and it upgraded the first day to Marshmallow. No problems that I've noticed. Given the high pixel density, 100% sRGB colour gamut, overall performance, and current low price, it seems to me to be unbeatable, as long as you're okay with non-expandable storage.

Just wondering whether you might get battery issues very quickly by buying something which is probably old stock.... Otherwise it's a killer device and worth every penny

Nexus 7 (2013) is still an excellent buy. It can be updated to Android 6 and it runs well and fast. I have Android 6 installed on my Nexus 7 LTE (2013) and my wife's Nexus 7 (2013). It is still, in my opinion, one of the best buys out there.
