Is it the battery or is it the phone?

I bought the HTC Evo 4G from Amazon, because my other phone was dropping calls constantly and just had a lot of issues and I'm not eligible for an upgrade until next year some time. So I got this phone and I was really excited because it's a great phone, but just recently I started having issues with the battery. The battery life sucks, I could have my phone charging all night, and within an hour of having it off the charger the battery is almost dead. Which that isn't a very big deal because I'm home most of the time anyways, and I had already been warned about the battery life.

My problem is when I tried charging my phone yesterday after it had died it wouldn't charge, and I tried it with the wall charger, the car charger, and my computer and it still wouldn't charge. Thankfully my brother has the same phone and he was kind enough to give me his spare battery, unfortunately the phone died again last night, and now it's not wanting to charge again. So I'm just trying to figure out if it's the phone itself or if it's just the batteries, has anyone else had this problem? I know people were saying that their battery doesn't hold a charge, but were you able to get your phone up and running after it died??

Its the usb port I just replaced my evo because of it its A know problem if u plug in the charger and u can see the port wiggle then it broke off

Or, the phone was water damaged.... My husband dropped his EVO 3d in water. Dried it out and it worked beautifully for about a week... Then suddenly the battery wouldn't hold a charge, it would sometimes get hot while charging, eventually wouldn't work until it was plugged in... Had to replace it.
