Is it worth buying the nexus 7 if I have an iPad 3?

When Pocket Planes comes out for Android, I am pretty sure I won't have to pick up the iPad 3 anymore. My only thing is my iPad stays at home, while I think nothing of bringing my N7 everywhere I go. It tethers off my Gnex and they compliment each other well.

I am lucky to be able to have both, the kids like to use the iPad, I get to use my N7 for my stuff.
Btw both Google and Apple need to realize that tablets need sign-ins. Sick of my kids messing with my Tiny Tower.

I went to dinner the other day on a work trip in Miami. I had to walk the downtown streets to get to my destination. I was a bit weary of bringing along my ipad to use while I ate a local sushi bar, mainly because I felt it was very much out there ripe for someone to snatch out of my hands. In comes the Nexus 7. Tucked it into my back jeans pocket, perfectly covered by my shirt, and enjoyed my walk worry free. These are the little moments when size matters :)

The form factor is mainly what has me curious about the nexus 7, and it looks very impressive. I love my iPad 3, I was just thinking about getting this to use as well. What do you think?

For $200, you have a device that is smaller, more portable, and will make you cry a whole lot less if you drop it.

I have an IPad 3 and i absolutely love it, But here is where i am at. I am a google person and i like everthing google does and stands for. I HATE Apple and everything they stand for. Ive always wanted a really good 7" tablet and the Fire came close, but i hate the overlay which pretty much ruins android. I plan on keeping both tablets, But i will be using the N7 for reading, web browsing and even games. Ill use my Ipad for everything else like word documents, Some of the apps that are Ipad only and movies.

Lately though, Im getting fed up with Apple and their patients and after reading all these good reviews on the N7 i may actually sell my ipad and use my N7 as my main Tablet. I could easily get over $600 for my ipad and thats extra money in my pocket. I will spend some time and decide if i want both for say goodbye to my IPad 3.

Good post...

How good are the browsing speeds going thru your GNex? Are they kinda like home WIFI?

Having both the iPad 3 and Nexus 7 is nice so I can enjoy apps from both eco systems and when the wife wants to grab the iPad I still have a great tablet to use. I didn't care to spend another $500 on a second iPad but $250 for this Nexus is pretty awesome . I have been pleasantly surprised by the speed and much smoother UI han the Asus Transformer I had purchased last year. I really like he 7" form factor for gaming with on screen joysticks, much better layout and size IMO. I still prefer Googles maps and navigation vs Siri and iOS maps and the 7" screen mounted in my car is just the right size. The iPad takes up a ton of windshield space, makes a great GPS device. I do wish i could just insert my VZW LTE sim card in the Nexus but I have a RAZR handy with unlimited data that makes a nice hotspot. I can understand why its lacking though, price and battery life.

Overall thrilled Google finally released a Nexus tablet.

you have nothing to lose but $200-$250 bucks plus you'll be having best of what both iOS and Android have to offer.
