So I am wondering if marshmellow is worth it on the note 5?
I have at&t and they have not released it yet.
Does doze actually extend battery life?
I am thinking about jumping ship to Verizon or t-mobile because it seems like they are now way faster than at&t when it comes to updates and security updates. Not to mention they have WiFi calling.
Any imput would be appreciated thanks.

Be patient. It will come, and you will be happy.

Feature I like is being able to turn off certain permissions within an app. Facebook doesn't need to access my microphone. Other apps have no business in my contacts or messaging.

There were a couple of things i was really happy to see with the marshmallow update, direct dial widgets being one of the biggest.

While i dont think it improved battery life much if any, its the first major update ive done on one of my phones without doing a fdr right after, and it has worked fine. (Other than i still believe 6.0 messed with my wireless charging)

Sent with my white Note5 with nonremovable back and no SDcard!

I have no plans to upgrade my T-Mobile Note 5. My Note 5 is rooted and I have some amazing battery life on this phone right now.

I also have a S7 Edge and between the two OS versions, there really isn'y anything must have and there isn't a huge difference between the two versions.

I like the update overall, though I haven't noticed improvements on battery life, etc. It did add very nice features but truth be told it took away some of my favorite UI aspects as it relates to how notifications are shown. I'm considering doing some research to go back to 5.1.1

Hands down the main reason for Marshmallow is the Good Lock app alone. Love the look and love the fun extras it brings

I haven't noticed any battery improvement at all and I run a conservative phone for business and personal connectivity. No FB, no Twitter, NO Instagram.

When folks talk about 'significant improvement', I literally wonder... from how few hours of SOT to how MANY hours of SOT?

I'm seeing the same amount of SOT after update as before.

MM appears to have a lot of bells and whistles to it but I don't view it as a 'major' jump as compared to Lollipop.

YMMV.

I have not seen any major gains in battery life either. It seems to have helped with blue tooth connectivity on my device. I had a lot of problems connecting to and maintaining the connection to my UE Roll before the update and now it just connects as soon as I turn the UE Roll on.

The Bluetooth issue is what I'm hoping the update will fix on mine.

Everybody is already discussing the features and etc of marshmallow on the note 5, features and previews for android n are out, and here i am, with my note 5, smn9208, still stuck with lollipop. No ota, nothing. Can anybody lend a helping hand? Based on what im reading so far though there are a lot of improvements in marshmallow so...

This damn update burns through the battery.

Posted Via Galaxy Note Edge. Yea, the phone is perfect...
