Is my battery life abnormal?

So today my battery life was better, but I'm not sure if that's because I used a different battery or if it's because I'm not in my work building today. I will test my original battery tomorrow.

Sorry for the amount of photos, just wanted to make sure I covered all the bases.

What is your brightness set at? I keep mine set around 38%, which is fine for me indoors and in the car most days. I also have my screen timeout for 30 seconds.

As other users have said, I would adjust your screen display brightness setting and also use battery saving apps or features when possible. Also, I would suggest turning off your location and Wi-Fi/data when you know you won't be using those features for a while.

So I appreciate the battery tips, but I was more wondering what kind of battery life everyone was getting. Is this closer to it?

I never use Wi-Fi unless I'm casting, and I only turn on my GPS when using Google Maps. I have full brightness usually until nighttime, then I put it on auto. But I'm trying to rule out this being specific to my phone/location before trying battery saving tips. I can still exchange this if I think I have a dud or a bad battery

That's great that you can exchange it still! Good luck! :)

I run full GPS always on, no battery saver, and set my display to 38%/30 second time out. For apps that need location to work (swarm, gas buddy etc) I allow location services. I spend an hour streaming Google Play Music daily to BT headset at the gym, FB messenger with at least 100 messages and 8-10 short videos sent throughout the day, 2 IMAP emails that sync every 15 minutes and 1 ActiveSync email account on push. Occasionally I even use it to talk to other people :)

I average 4.5 to 5 hours SOT and about 11 hours on time per day. I've had days with 8 hours, and days with 14. It all depends on how much I'm actually talking on the phone that day.

Based on your screen shots, I don't see anything really out of the ordinary battery discharge-wise based on the settings you say you are using. Having your screen brightness at 100% most of the day is going to drain your battery pretty quick.

Battery life sucks on the V20 when there's barely any service, it doesn't help that half my day is spent at my high school where they basically block the coverage so I barely get any service.
I would really be surprised if there is a signal jammer being used. Is it more the physical layout of the building, concrete walls, interior rooms, etc.? Anyway, I would put it on airplane mod when not using it to save battery.

Somes schools do block cell phone signals

Thought they found that to be illegal? Could you imagine the repercussions if there was a terrorist type incident ( all to come these days unfortunately) at the school and nobody could call for help.

I feel like each (v20) phone is different. I am returning mine because i had a different issue. Meanwhile Sprint sent me a new one. Im finding the battery life to be very inconsistent with my first one. The first one got amazing battery life and this one is terrible. I'm thinking of keeping my first one with its issues to retain the battery life

Hmmm, interesting. So what kind of battery life were you seeing with your original phone?

i wouldnt know how to put it in writing. Just the same kind of usage, and noticing the percentages drop while using it.
An example- i get up in the morning and spend 20 minutes reviewing emails, messages etc. On my old phone sometimes id still be at 100% or 99%. On the new phone, im at 90-92%

So being back at work today I found that turning off 4G has given me an extra 10-15% of battery by the time I exit the building. Which is nice, but it isn't the big jump I was hoping for.

So I'm basically getting an average of 3 hours of screen on time using 40-60% brightness and turning off 4G while inside my work building.

Are they majority of you getting better numbers than this? How can I be sure if my battery life is average for my area, or if there's something wrong with my phone?

I can't really help with what could be the cause of that battery life for you. But for what it is worth, I'm on 4g all day at work, WiFi once I get home with Bluetooth connected to my smart watch at all times, and I'm pretty easily putting the phone on the charger at night with about 20% left, and 5 hours screen on time. Could easily get 6hrs judging by the 20% battery I'm ending my 15.5 hr day with. I'm in a decent coverage area on Verizon. I feel like 3hrs SOT for you is unacceptable, it really should be better, BUT if you are getting really weak signal where you are at, that can be a huge drain.

As an update, my battery life seems to have gotten better over the past few days. I'm wondering if the phone at the time was still syncing accounts and setting things up
