Is My Edge Lighting Working Properly?

I've been playing around with all the settings. I came across the edge lighting setting. I set it so that the edge lighting on comes one when the screen is off. I changed it to the glitter effect that changes colors. In my short time with the note 8, I thought I remembered it enabling when receiving a call. It was almost like a wave of different colors. However, even after setting my note 9 to glitter effect, when I get a call, the edges of the screen will glow green, but not change colors. I even changed it to a solid blue color, but still uses green. Also, it doesn't do anything when getting a text, even though I enabled my messaging app to use the edge lighting. Why is the edge lighting not using the effect I pick?

Whenever you choose your effect do you hit the Apply button on the top right instead of just hitting the back button?

Yeah, I hit apply and it's even still selected when I leave and go ba k to the settings.

Be honest..... You just wanted an excuse to use your spen and draw on the screen. Hahaha

Mine wasn't working either out of the box; I had to go to the Manage Notifications menu at the bottom of the Edge Lighting menu and select all apps. It wasn't turned on for any of them, even though the switch in Edge Lighting was on (also just wanted to use my pen!!!)

All available apps is disabled on mine too, but I have a few individual apps selected. My Edge Lighting is working, just not with the color/theme that I'm selecting. It's just a green glow no matter what I select
