So I woke up two days ago to find that my perfectly good Galaxy Note 1 was stuck on its boot screen ( where it says "Samsung GALAXY Note GT-N7000" ). Im not aware of it trying to update etc. It seems to be impossible to access the debug screen ( Vol up + Power + Menu buttons ) although I am able to access the download screen ( Vol down + Power + Menu buttons ). As such I have tried to use odin to root the phone but it has failed probably 6/6 times. The guide I have used can be found below:
Followed this guide: Site wont allow the link... I can provide it if anyone is interested but the guide is below.
Root method 3- Root Galaxy Note on Android 4.1.2 XXLSZ Jelly Bean via Odin
1) Download PhilZ-cwm6-XXLSZ-OXA-4.63.tar.md5 for Galaxy Note to the computer
2) Download Odin3_v3.04.zip file
3) Switch off the Galaxy Note and enter into Download Mode. Press and hold Volume Down, Home and the Power buttons together until the screen turns up. Then a screen will appear asking to press the Volume Up button to enter into Download Mode
4) Open Odin on the computer
5) Connect the Galaxy Note to the computer using USB cable while it is in the Download Mode. Wait until the ID: COM port at Odin turns blue and an 'ADDED' message comes
6) In Odin, click on PDA button and select the PhilZ-cwm6-XXLSZ-OXA-4.63.tar.md5 file
7) Verify that the Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time options are selected in Odin
8) Double check everything and click the Start button in Odin to begin installation
9) Once the installation process is completed, a PASS message will appear on Odin and then the Galaxy Note will reboot
Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 running on Android 4.1.2 XXLSZ Jelly Bean official firmware is now rooted successfully. To ensure the aforementioned root method is installed and working correctly, download Root Checker app from Google Play Store.
Having done this my boot screen is now accompanied by a yellow warning triangle although I think this is to be expected after the attempted root. Anyway if anyone can help in anyway I'd really appreciate it. Otherwise I think I'm going to have to buy a new phone as this one seems buggered!
Thanks,
