Is my phone battery draining without use normal?

Moto G 2nd Gen Battery Drain....please Help!!!

I Purchased Moto G 2nd Gen last week....Everything has been good except the battery.....when the phone is idle...i mean maybe 8 hours....the battery drains nearly 14%...Is it normal?i have made sure that the internet is switched off,wifi if off,..someone who has got Moto g 2nd gen please tell me how much does your battery drain when idle????

I've had the same issue, but I believe that it's due to a poor cell signal. I do get that, but I did have a Samsung Galaxy S5 and LG G2 that didn't seem to have this problem. In fact, it's only been my 2013 Moto G, 2013 Moto X, and 2014 Moto G that has a battery that continually goes down without use.

my moto g seems to drain faster when idle than when i am using it. my son has the last gen and it will sit idle for days and hardly use any battery and when he is on it he will get at least 4-5 hours of screen on time. i dont understand why they coudnt up size the battery, they made the phone bigger how about the battery? i would have paid an extra $20 for that, still would be cheapest phone around off contract.

Welll yeah i agree with this......i have the same issue....when i use it continuously the battery performs very welll...when its idle it drains an unusual amount of battery(13% in my case for approx 12 hours)...Do you Mind telling me how much your battery drains when idle??
