Android Central Question

I am a windows phone user. ( Lumia 650 )
I am thinking to move to android.

I would like to use amoled display.
So i can easily choose any phone from Samsung.

Unlike windows phone, Android is not looking much good in terms of security.

Nokia is not providing Android One.
But Samsung is using Amoled Display.

J8, On8, A6+, Nokia 7 Plus are my choices.
Which one is good?

Display.
Security and Good/Decent Camera.
I am not going to do much with my phone.
So, decent performance processor is enough.

Please kindly suggest.

I meant, Nokia is NOW providing Android One.
My Options in Nokia are Nokia 7 Plus or Nokia 6.1 Plus (But they are not amoled. Not sure about the camera in those phones.)

Both of your assumptions are wrong. At least depending on where you live.

Nokia provides Android One on its new phones.
Samsung phones are secure. They receive the montly security patches. You only have a problem with the Samsung patches if you use the US versions because of carrier crap.

From your choices, Nokia 7 Plus is the best phone in terms of hardware.

If Samsung Phones are secure, then i would like to go with Samsung. I like to use Amoled Display.
How long will Samsung provide those security updates?

I am from India.
Is A6+ a better choice if the price is around 19K INR. [Considering Display and Camera with Nokia 7 plus]

PS. If every month, there is a security patch, does it mean there is always a security threat in Android?
I am going to miss my windows phone :(

Why change when apparently you don’t want to?

Good question.
Because, the support has been stopped.
It is not safe to use this phone anymore.

But i believe it is still secured than Android.
I waited and waited. There is no news from Microsoft.
So moving to ANDROID!

Every month they make a security update for every new hole they find. Even if there are no current threats, they are employing people to try and hack themselves and pay them to tell them the results. Whatever hole they find, they patch it up even while there's no threat.

I can't be sure for Samsung's mid range priced phones. The flagships are supposed to get monthly security updates for 3 years, and 2 major OS updates. However the A8 (top line A series) only should be getting one major OS update, so they'll probably get monthly updates for 2 years. And sometimes Samsung does skip security updates because they already patched it themselves.

The Nokia will be better supported since it's direct update from Google, so it would likely receive 2 major OS updates and 3 years support for security updates.

The Nokia is a better choice in terms of performance as it has a more powerful CPU and GPU. Camera is decent IMO based on samples I've seen. The only thing that the A6 has over it is AMOLED display.

Thank you so much.
Since i dont need much processing power,

Can i choose Nokia 6.1 plus over Nokia 7 plus?
As already asked, i need display, and camera to be good.

Thanks for all you help.
Nokia 6.1 plus (not 6.1) will be launched tomorrow in my country.
I will check this out with someone directly.
So it will be easier for me to choose.

Thanks again.
