is optimus G wifi a little weak?

Wifi performance on my new. G (distance) is inferior to my old Optimus S. Is this typical for the G?

Wifi is weak on my LG E970 compared to my old ipHone 3GS. I thought I was the only one. Hopefully JB will fix it.

My WIFI at work really shows the truth.

My old Epic 4G Touch could barely muster an 18mb connection on N setting at my desk. My Sprint Optimus G is pulling 24 most of the time. Also speed test shows my connection at 32-72 down and 30-60 up at work. And yes those numers are what you are reading. I'll post a pic of speedtest.net later.

Even at home I get max speed 3 rooms away at 11.6mb down from Uverse and 1.4 up. My old phone could barely pull half the speed three rooms away.

so from the Epic 4G Touch to this this is way better.

I may have had an ISP problem. Close to router (next room) bandwidthplace measured 14.48 Mbps down and 9.12 Mbps up today.

Think I figured it out.

I turned off the Optimus G's "Eco Mode" and let all four cores run wild. I hit 23 Mbps down over my Wi-Fi with a room and wall between the phone and router.
