Anyone know if S7 unlocked version is available to buy yet here in the US?

Damn. Is it worth waiting for unlocked version? If I don't, then ATT version is what I would have to get as I am ATT subscriber.

No. Only international versions (not North American) are sold unlocked.
There is an unlocked version (possibly international version) that I believe will work in the usa. Not sure about warranty though.

The stock Samsung models for South/Latin America are usually fully compatible with AT&T's GSM network. For instance, the Galaxy S5 regional model, G900M and the Galaxy S6 regional model, G920i, are the choices for users that want stock firmware with no carrier bloatware or branding, unlocked bootloaders and fully rootable. with regular updates, direct from Samsung.

Unfortunately, if you are on an old CDMA network, Verizon, Sprint, etc; you are screwed!

Where is the safest place to buy an unlocked international version that works on AT&T?

I would say some place like best buy or amazon (but only if sold by Amazon), if they sell it, which they might not.

My understandi g is when you put a US carrier Sim in the S7 locks to that carrier

I don't think usa versions are like that... Perhaps certain versions in international areas

Don't go to Best Buy, they won't sell you the phone unactivated. I argued w the sales rep for over a half hour and calling corporate. They would not sell it to me unless I used AT&T next..really??

I think you can buy it online with best buy. You have to select unactivated device after you click ''add to package'' and it lets you check out without a plan paying full price for the phone. Its the route im going here pretty soon.

I ended up going to another store and talking to a competent manager and he sold it to me. Truly some reps are clueless

I bought mine ATT unactivated at Best Buy for full price. No pain at all. I wasnt even asked if I need to use ATT Next.

But don't you still get all of the AT&T bloat apps installed? The whole purpose behind and unlocked model is to get away from the bloat, or so I read.
