now is it possible to build a sense rom? since htc released the source codes...and for everyone that has performance issues with games and apps, use setcpu, turn off autorotate, increase vm heap (theres a app for it called vm heap) and increase sd.card cache(theres a app for that too called sd speed.boost),and clear unused apps, I've been playing angry birds for about two wks with no lag unless its interrupted by a text but it usually goes back to normal in a few minutes..

Interesting. I'll try some of your suggestions out. Angry birds in pretty unplayable in my opinion, would be nice if this worked.

it should work run smoothly, i have mine vm heap at 44mb and it hardly ever lags, before it would run but, very laggy especially when launching a bird and when the pigs would blink and stuff, so i would hardly use it, maybe i can upload a video of it later, when i get my evo...i dont think overclock matters since i have mine running at 122 to 748 on ondemand, and it runs fine,..

the alternative is to switch to a faster rom, and/or either get the ad free version of angry birds or get an ad blocker. I only played angry birds on this phone after i had a rom on it, seeing as my phone didn't last two days after i got it in november before it had TR on it. The phone lagged a bit but only at the start and if i let the game sit for a minuet after it started, which i used this time to plan my attack, it would play the level with out lag, then i got ad free and i didn't have lag anymore at all. Now i've got ad free angry birds and ginger bread, zero problems and i'm not overclocked at all.

That too but, not all people want to switch or are going to, but vm heap should work universally since its basically just increasing the amount a single app can use, i think games are the only ones that need more memory,...im runnning gingerbread too, but it works on 2.2 too..

VM Heap seemed to help with Angry Birds Rio, I increased it to 44 mb. Their is still some delay at times but it does seem noticeably better. Thanks for the tip Josh. FYI, I am on Thunderrom 1.8.2.

Sense source code?

I just looked this up and I didnt see any release of the Sense UI source code. I see the kernel sources for their phones, but no Sense :(.

(If I am ignorant and Sense UI is included in the kernel sources someone please let me know.)

Lol irdk, idk anything about source codes, my friend said something about they were out but, he knows no more than me (and i dont kno squat) ....btw rio probably runs smooth because there are no ads, try removing ads, closing the rest of the programs may be changing ur overclock settings (maybe u have it on conservative or power save) and also i have surface dithering turned off, if u running cm7 its in the settings for u to disable, if u dont, maybe theres a app

im guessing thats not the real thing and simply just themed...or on a different phone...

Your correct in both aspects (look at me trying to sound all smart) but when I'm done you'll have the full sense effect. I'm using the optimus v but this when I'm done will be for the optimus m,v,s and possibly the u. Your probably thinking how can I get the full sense effect well honestly sense is just a very nice theme on top of the basic stock android and with some work and mostly time it'll come to fruition. I don't know for sure when it'll be complete but I should have a beta in the next week or so and hopefully that will inspire some help from others to really get this done faster. I've already got all the needed widgets and everything they just need to be themed a little

The thing is theming is cool but, the sense effect really cant replicated, like the sense launcher, widgets, and font can be replicated but it isnt sense, sense is specially developed to act like sense, not stock, and thats whats needed, because as much tweaks are made, its still stock, like customizing a stock car or buying a tuner, a tuner is custom made....

Yeah Sense UI is a LOT more than just a theme. It's a UI framework much like QT or GTK on Linux/Unix. If it was just a theme on top of the stock Launcher, there wouldn't be so many apps that don't work on Sense devices.
