Is sprint really unlimited?

I'm on Verizon and no there is NOT a data cap. I'm currently at 8GB for the month and still getting full LTE speeds.

Have you checked your bill? Your only supposed to get 2 or 4 gb I don't believe at all your getting that much lte

What is it exactly that you want me to check? I'm seeing my usage over 8GB for the month with 4 days left...and I just ran a Speedtest and I'm getting 20.4Mbps down and 9.69Mbps up.

I know how fast 4G is I just don't see how your getting that much that's all everyone I know has a 2 gb cap for 4G then they get throttled and get forced to 3g

Verizon doesn't throttle except people who are excessively abusing the network...like that one guy who used almost 200GB in 10 days.

Sprint will get cranky after 5 gigs only while roaming. They will give you a phone call when you are halfway there telling what they can do as far as terminating your contract. I've recieved one of those calls, they are no big deal.

I've tethered my laptop (rooted) on sprint's network and Sprint has never complained to me. But I'm not a data hog either. I'm sure I fly under the radar compared to some people.

I was told at the Verizon store that its cheaper for Verizon if we use 4g instead of 3g. This is the reason for the double your data campaign. If that's true then I can't see them throttling someone back to 3g. Really heavy users maybe but not the average user.

If you sign up for Sprints unlimited data plan it is unlimited.
I have 5 phones on my plan, we average 5GB per phone and we have one power user that pulls down about 18 gigs. I have yet to get any notice from Sprint or see any drop off in speeds.
Although I wish they would get off their duffs and get some 4G in Phoenix already.
All of you VZ users on here may be on different plans some are on grandfathered unlimited plans. Someone signing up fresh now would be hit with caps; unless you want to pay out the nose for overages.

I would like to see you post that letter you just mentioned.

I have been using between 7-15 GB of data per month since August 2010. I have never been slowed down or had a letter from sprint.

This. Would love to see said letter.

OK first, trusting anything you hear from the Verizon store without doing your research first is silly. Of course they are going to tell you things to make their service sound better. Same with any other carrier store. Do your own research first. Then ask questions and have counters to their questions if you see conflicting reports. This is what I do, and I have made some store reps mad. Of course I am not intentionally doing this, but they get mad because I seem to know more about what's going on than they do.
