I tried searching but it isn't working properly in Tapatalk.

Is Swype preloaded on the gs3 or do we get to download it? My biggest complaint about being back to stock on my Droid X is that the version of Swype on here is two years old and can't be updated by the user. I miss new Swype!

You should be able to install the new Swype on your DX. I was able to do it on mine.

I'm stock. Never rooted.

Believe the default Samsung keyboard has a swype/trace feature in the settings. It's not Swype but their own modified version.

The main samsung keyboard has swipe built in. You can enable it in the samsung keyboard settings. It will look like the samsung keyboard but will do all the functions of swipe. Just click to enable "Predictive text" and check box the "Keyboard swipe" and "Continuous input"

It works kinda of like swype but its not swype. I had to download swype and it works just fine.

It's not pre loaded but can easily be downloaded from Swypes website.

You are my hero. Holy crap, I'm so happy right now. Thanks a million. I knew it didn't work last time (pre-nuance) and it never occurred to me to try again.

(PS: let's go Mets!)

Noob question: How can I turn-off Predictive text but not the Continuous input on Galaxy S3? Turning off Predictive text disables Continuous input. If that is not possible, what's a good alternative to Swype? Swype Beta license expires in 6 months, that is why I am hesitant to install it on my phone. TIA

There is a version of swype preloaded on the phone... but it is nowhere near as good as the swype branded keyboard. Go get it at Swype | Text Input for Screens ... that's the keyboard I'm using right now! I love it! Waay better than the one that comes with the GS3... even if you use "Continuous Input".
