is the 32gb worth it?

The SD card standards are class 2, 4, 6 and 10.

They rate according to data write speed. A class 2 is 2Mb per second while the 4 is 4Mb per second and the 6 and 10 are 6Mb and 10Mb per second.

The faster the card obviously, the faster the writes to the card will be. The phone may slow down slightly, due to different manufacturers and different processes of making the cards. All in all, any lag from the cards should be minimal or even unnoticeable as long as you don't have a 1st generation micro SD that is a class 2 128 MB or something similar.

A 32 or 64 GB class10 should be good enough for the next few years.

"640K ought to be enough for anybody."

I like to have as much of my music movies pics etc stored locally just in case i am ever in a situation where I have no data connection ie hospital, office buildings etc and need entertainment so i went with the 32g. I do not have it filled up because i also have a 32g memory card as well. I did manage to fill my 32g iphone and came close to filling my razr maxx. Do i truly need the space not really but I like to have it just in case. Plus having expandable memory is reassuring as well.

yeah but surely havin a low class sd doesnt slow down the whole phone? i get same quadrant score with it in or out

For me I was able to afford the extra $50 for the peace of mind that I'll have enough internal memory space.

16GB is sufficient for most people; 32 is ideal--wish 32 was the standard but I digress. 32GB also will have a higher resale value; if you choose to go that route.
