Is the 4.0.4 ota out yet

Just got off the phone with VZW about poor 3G/4G reception. My Droid 4 gets 4/5 bars on 3G and 2-3/5 bars on 4G.

My Galaxy Nexus gets 2/4 bars on 3G and 0-1/4 bars on 4G. Often there's no 4G at my residence on the Galaxy Nexus but I always have it on the Droid 4.

When I confronted VZW with this information I was routed to a Tier 2 tech support and he stated they've seen the photo online of the Galaxy Nexus with the 4.0.4 update. Even the guys in tech support are wondering why they haven't received it themselves.

When I asked if the update could be pushed to my phone he said he was unable to fulfill my request but asked me to start checking for the update manually beginning this Sunday, May 13, 2012. 100,000 users per week will be updated automatically once the update is available. Manual updates would require going into Settings and checking for an update.

I hope this information helps. :)

I think the test phase is putting it on the demo phones in retail stores. I don't know why they bother , the hardware can't even hold up to that beating.

It's Sunday, and no update for me yet.

People, location DOES NOT MATTER. Updates are sent out by ESN.

What time zone is that?

Not here in Pittsburgh. Was in a VZW store last night and checked store model. It was on 4.0.2.

I think Verizon is patching one phone at a time :-)

Lol. I wish that Verizon were actually that thorough. They have really shown how bad THEY (VZW) is at updates with the Nexus. Pretty sure we won't get another Nexus on VZW.

I wonder what the excuse will be when LTE is the standard, and CDMA is gone?

If you mean how locked down CDMA is, then your argument doesn't get very far. LTE is as patented and locked down through licensing as CDMA is.

Wasn't an argument. Was a question. With CDMA being so locked down, if LTE is the same then doesn't that mean there will be no more Nexus? If google can't sign off on a CDMA unit, what would make me think they could do it on anyone's LTE if it is as locked down as you say?

And isn't GSM being faded out over time? In favor of LTE? Again if LTE is locked up I am guessing it is the end if the Nexus.

It doesn't mean anything of the sort.
