No doubt Huawei takes the lead globally soon. I see that as a good thing. Everyone will up their game to compete. Can only be good for the consumer.
They did test it but just not enough and clearly not at all enough in real world usage.Samsung said that if the fix is not ready by May31st they will cancel all preorders and refund any moneys to customers. Federal regulators are getting involved at this point. I can’t believe they didn’t test this device before releasing it and if someone suggest they did test it then they are 100% wrong. Way to go Samsung.

I think they partly felt pressure from Huawei, and therefore wanted to be first out the gate as quickly as possible and it has comeback to bite them.
The good thing is that Samsung can afford to take a knock like this, this is not 'Note7 bad'.
Ther article says it has to refund the preorders. They were never charged.
You can cancel your preorder anytime until it ships. There's no need for a easy out IMOI am fairly certain that the "Your pre-order will be canceled if you don't respond by May 31" is more of a compliance/giving people an easy out if they want it thing. My ATT update never had it shipping shipping in May anyway. For the moment I will "Stay the Course" and see how this shapes up.
Samsung Still Has No Idea When the Galaxy Fold Will Launch
https://www.macrumors.com/2019/05/07/samsung-no-launch-date-galaxy-fold/
Yet it does appear accurate as far as I have seen. Is there a new launch date?I'm not trying to get you mad at me, or I'm not trying to offend you. If you want true, trustworthy news about Android, Samsung etc... I wouldn't get from an Apple/Mac rumor site.
Later this week? So today or tomorrow?Last night I posted that there will be a launch date later this week, and that they have found how to fix the issue with the Fold.

Well the fact that only 4 people reported it, and then those people then posted it on the social medias. Samsung had to do something because you know how the media and people are these days.I can't believe they didn't see any issues during testing what were they looking at ?

Let's deal in a simple fact. Samsung had to do something because there are real issues.
The social media hysterical or otherwise brought them to light.
Samsung should be thankful. It would have be catastrophic had it been released as it was.
This same statement can and was said about the note 7.Probably but who knows. There were a lot of people who said their devices worked just fine. No problems at all.

Here’s my concerns. There were already reports of other foldable phones being developed by Samsung. Presumably they intended to stagger them somewhat so that they didn’t release right after fold. Now that fold has what is likely to be a 2 month delay, waiting for the next one seems like a much better decision. 2 months is a long time in the tech world. If Samsung release a better device for less money 3 months after the fold, that would be a real screw job to fold buyers.
