Someone help me out here. I just noticed that when I'm looking at a set of options on my screen that I can highlight an option by just putting my finger a half an inch away from the screen. Now, it only activates if I touch the screen but it highlights to my finger just positioned over the screen. Is this designed into the Galaxy or am I a superhero?

Welcome to Android Central! Capacitative screens detect touches due to your finger completing an electrical circuit within the screen. If your finger is charged up (e.g., with a static charge), I think that can cause the circuit to complete just by being close but not touching the screen.

It seems to happen all the time with me. Maybe others have had the same experience?

if I remember correctly this is a feature that you can disable. I remember I saw something about it when I had an S4.
what android version are you on?
