Is the GE launcher enough to become your default?

I loaded this up on my stock HTC One, and I really love it. The only thing I was concerned about was the possible drain on battery life, with Google waiting in the wings for my voice command. So far, it appears to be working pretty well.

Tried it last night. Half my icons were fuzzy and a bunch of stuff that worked stopped working. No menu on the home screen, etc. It's basically unusable for me.

Being able to use the okay Google voice command (although only while on home screen) is enough for me to use GEL. Also as others have pointed out. I like the Google now integration.

The GEL is a step with the right direction but it's still not enough.

IMHO the best launcher currently is.. (are you ready for it?)

The TouchWiz GS4/note 3 launcher!

It is extremely responsive, it is really fast but the most important thing is that it has a scrolling indicator with the ability to scroll quickly through home screens as well as each 'blimp' indicator being a shortcut to that home screen. Yes, it lacks custom grid sizes and doesn't support theme packs, as well as other things but in terms of functionality, the only thing that comes close is Go Launcher - which has its scrolling indicator's blimps are too tightly squeezed together therefore making it much less comfortable.

I'm not an HTC user, but it seems to me they are already using a slightly bolded roboto condensed font?

Still using GEL and it's been almost three weeks. I miss lots of features of Action Launcher (especially the drawer) but I've managed to organize things into two home screens - one with two folders, the other with eye in the sky and feedly widgets. Sure do miss covers and shutters but I've been trying to get used to stock apps more. I've become used to using chrome over opera despite certain things taking more taps as well.

Google Now is actually useful now after the last update so I appreciate the dedicated page more. I still think they need to make home screens vertically scrollable like this for widgets.

One thing that seriously pisses me off, and its one of those stupid things iOS does that made me switch to Android in the ICS era, you can't just have a blank home screen!? To put it nicely that is just f--king stupid.

The only thing I've missed from Nova Launcher is the ability to add more than 12 items in a folder. I do miss that, but over all the GEL is pretty fast and seems great.

I installed the GEL and lost my widget drawer. Was it moved, deleted or do i have to set my widgets up again?

what is this ge launcher everyone keeps talking about? i have 4.4 now and cant seem to find anything....is this the same thing as immersive mode? if so, i cant even find that...

I like my resizable grid and ability to remove the dock too much, went back to Nova.
